Know to Grow
“Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.” Jeremiah 32:17
In this game of life, we all play parts – important parts. The key to contributing is to know our part, play our part and constantly improve our role.
Some people are Idealists. They dream of the world as they think it should be and want it to be.
Other people are Realists. They accept the world for how it is yet keep moving forward with it.
We have our Optimists - those who see the good in everything. And, we have our Pessimists. They can’t seem to find the good in anything.
I happen to be a Logic-ist. I understand the Idealist’s desire but grasp the Realist’s common sense.
To the Idealists I say get out more often. Sit in the trenches. To the Realist I say remember to dream. Dream BIG! To the Optimist, I envy you. To those who are pessimists, I encourage you to count your blessings every morning. If you can’t make it to a minimum of 25, the problem might just be you! <oops>
If we are unwilling to know ourselves and improve ourselves, life becomes stagnant. Our refusal to grow becomes a thorn in life’s side; an irritant.
God’s power is mighty, loving, all-encompassing and He never discriminates. He does, however, think differently than any of us. He will mold the Idealist. He will remind the Realist of His sovereignty. He allows the Optimist to know pain reminding them of life’s trials. He will put his arm around the Pessimist and whisper in their ear, “I am for you. Who can stand against you?”
For those of us who rely on logic, He tugs at our hearts and says, “Rely on Me.”
