Remember to forget...

“My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.” Psalm 62:7

Our greatest critic is often ourselves. A narcissistic personality blames everyone else for their problems. Someone seeped in reality understands that life consists of black, white, and grey. Answers are often complicated. Many times, our decisions are based solely on our perspective. Someone else can view the exact same situation and come away with a totally different solution. Differences of opinion do not necessarily mark someone “wrong” and the other person “right.” Differences of personalities reveals different views of life. What is important to me may not be important to you and vice versa. To bottom line it, most of us do the best we can with the information we are given. Many of us wish we could go backwards and have some do-overs. We can’t. All of us make mistakes.  Often. All of us hit the mark.  Regularly. No one is ever 100% wrong or 100% right. No one.

When we don’t know what to do, we should look to Jesus. When we realize we have messed up, we should confess to Jesus. When we’ve done something wrong, we can be held accountable through the grace of Jesus. However, when we do something right – it doesn’t matter who agrees or disagrees with us. Except for Jesus.

God never leaves us alone in the dark. He is always with us. He is with us in the dark and remains by our side until the light appears again. And, if we are living for Him, the Light always appears again.

It’s a stressful time for many people for different reasons. If you are a child of God, please read the verse accompanying this blog. Understand that God’s got this. More than that, God has you. He was and is and is to come. Eternally and personally, God has our backs. Always.

If you are burdened by past mistakes or current adversity, remember to forget. Forget about this world and remember His sovereignty. God promises protection. We can rely on Him to handle the details. Faith forgets the turmoil by remembering God is with us. Always.

At the same time, never forget that you are loved deeply and completely.
