“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35
I enjoy Jimmy Fallon. However, I stopped watching The Tonight Show a year or so ago. Surprisingly, I didn’t stop watching Jimmy Fallon because he is a sinner or immoral. If that’s the reason I stopped watching, I wouldn’t be able to interact with anyone. Anywhere. Even some preachers. <wink>
No, I stopped watching Jimmy Fallon because he moved beyond his craft and moved into hate. But, guess what? I don’t watch Sean Hannity for the same reasons.
The human brain is more susceptible to hate than we know. Brainwashing is never obvious. It is always subtle. Children of the south were continually exposed to slavery in generations passed. So much so that they accepted slavery as normal and okay. Many slave owners were professed Christians. They used scripture (misused scripture) to justify their points of view. What’s worse is some people still misuse scripture to try and justify bad behavior.
If we are filling our minds with anything that is contradictory to what Jesus said and mirrored, we are being brainwashed. Sadly, many of us willingly allow the brainwashing to go on and on and on and on…. well, you get my point. Who we listen to and how we fill our minds determines how we behave. I rest my case.
