"Everyone" means everyone...
“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:17
Everyone deserves to be loved. Even when we do unlovely things, God loves us. If we are imitators of Christ, as the bible teaches, we should do the same.
I’m not talking about an “I’m-okay-you’re-okay-and-sin-doesn’t-matter” kind of love. I am talking about the fact that John 3:16 teaches God loves the world. God loves His creation. God loves mankind. God loves trees and oceans; puppy dogs and kitty cats. God loves all people – red, yellow, black, white and brown. God created a perfect world and willingly granted mankind free will.
Increasingly, mankind proves we can be unlovely and an unloving people. We take sides. We seem to enjoy taking sides. We make harsh judgements with tainted facts. Perhaps I am preaching to myself, but my suspicion is that many of you will agree. We tend to demand that the world see itself through our eyes. Often, our view is clouded. Our eyes aren’t seeing 20/20. Regardless, we think we have all the answers just the same. We have all the answers, but anyone questioning our answers is branded a trouble maker. Jesus can relate.
My heart is broken. I truly believe my country is in shambles. I believe hate is at an all-time high. While Jesus was not sent into our world to condemn it, His people seem to be doing a top-notch job. If God were as closed-minded as we present Him, none would be saved. None.
Everyone deserves to be loved. Everyone needs a Savior. I hear a voice from Heaven calling out to God’s people, “Spread God’s love; not man’s anger.”
