Let Freedom Ring

“To the person who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other as well, and from the person who takes away your coat, do not withhold your tunic either.” Luke 6:29

On being right…

I have my rights.

You cannot say,

“The bigger man

Walks away.”

If I’m done wrong,

I won’t turn the other cheek.

Doesn’t matter what Christ taught –

I refuse to be weak.

I don’t understand.

Why all the fuss?

God is okay

With the arrogance in us.

He understands

Our anger is right!

He expects us

To put up a fight!

Our rights are threatened!

It’s time to stand!

I don’t have to respect

My fellow man.

I can be aggressive.

It’s okay.

It’s not like our enemies

Won’t do the same.

Taking a stand

Isn’t a sign of pride.

(Although my anger is burning

A hole inside.)

I have just as much of a right

To curse those who are wrong.

That’s what Jesus expected from us

All along.

He didn’t teach humility.

Kindness isn’t enough.

We must show

This world we are tough!

It’s not my fault

What others may say.

A truly brave Christian

Never walks away!

My rights are my rights.

They reveal I am strong.

Even when my rights

Are scripturally wrong.

Jesus came to bring a

Spiritual revolution.

Id rather focus on

Our constitution.
