We are living in a world full of TMI (too much information). Whether it is 24 hours news or “sexual freedom,” there are some things we just don’t need to know and sometimes we need to turn off the squawk box. That’s the TV for anyone under the age of 50.
I suspect my almost-60-year-oldness is showing, but some incidents in the recent days have truly baffled me. I think these things fall under: Are you kidding me?
There is apparently a petition going around that has over 4,000 signatures to reveal that Wonder Woman is bisexual in the summer movie’s sequel to be release next year. Really? Wonder Woman is bisexual. Excuse me….isn’t she a cartoon character?
The scuttlebutt (that’s a rumor for anyone under the age of 50) is that the LGBTQ community wants children to have someone to look up to and by revealing that Wonder Woman is bisexual, they will feel “embraced and empowered.” Once again, SHE’S A FREAKIN’ CARTOON CHARACTER.
Perhaps we might instill confidence in our children through Godly measures as opposed to asking Hollywood and the cartoon world to do it for us?
Then, there is the issue of Hugh Hefner. I know….I know…he believed in “art.” Regardless of what one thinks of Playboy, and I know most of you read it for the articles, this man reeked of sexual addiction. We can dress up what he did, but we need to really examine his lifestyle. This man glamourized sex with multiple partners at one time (while I can’t believe he could get one 20-year-old in bed but money does talk), orgies, excessive drinking and drugs, and “free love.” Yes, I realize I just lost everyone under the age of 50.
Call me a prude, but I think there are times we focus too much on sex and too little on meaning. And, hey! I like sex. TMI, right?
