Beyond the Cross
Some of us operate under the misconception that Jesus’ last words were words of defeat: “It is finished,” “Father, into Your hands I commit my spirit.” Some even think, “My God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken me?” are His last words. That would be incorrect.
Those words were spoken before He died. As Believers, we need to stop focusing on the sad and bad and talk about what makes us GLAD!
Let’s not walk around like we are dying, okay? Regardless of what goes on in our world, we are all physically dying. But, if we are in Christ, we are alive spiritually! I plan on living eternally, don't you? Let’s not walk around spreading doom and gloom. Do you believe Christ will return? Do you believe the Bible? Then why are we focusing on what’s wrong with the world instead of spreading the news of Who makes all things righteous?
The Christian life should be lived with conviction, compassion, passion, and JOY! Remember the age-old formula for JOY:
Get life in perspective and it really won’t matter if the walls fall down around you. We still win. We are victorious in the end! Let’s try acting like it, okay?
Act 1:8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Brothers and sisters, do not be discouraged or distracted. Live as if you believe and pray when belief seems impossible.
Our God reigns. No one else. God. That’s it. He’s the One. Only Him. Don’t worry. Give joy a chance!
