Negative News

(Names will not be mentioned as I blog in an effort to protect the innocent. There are very few innocent, but there are some.)

Oh, my. I think I am on overload. Anyone who is a worrier, which I am, reads this stuff and you think, “How much more can we take, Lord?!” Not to mention what it does to our psyche. It’s too much. It is simply too much. How much more can we take?

I mean, first you hear about that family. He seemed so sweet, but her on the other hand? What a bossy, know-it-all. I wonder why he picked someone like her to marry? Their kids had lots of trouble. Mainly because of the mother. The father was so nice. It is obvious the mother was the problem. To top it all off, two of the sons became very violent. Some say anger overtook him and he couldn’t help himself. I don’t know. It seems you would know not to kill your brother over a disagreement. Seems bizarre to me.

Then, there was that man who did great work in the world and was a witness to MANY! He definitely had the spiritual gift of service. I read he completed a major project and then went out and got drunk. So drunk, that they found him naked. His kids walked in on him and he was so wasted that it was a huge embarrassment to the family.  All the good he did seemed to be wiped out all because of an alcohol binge.

When I read the story about the supervisor that went to work and killed his employee because he didn’t like the way one employee treated other workers, I thought, “What is this world coming to?”

It’s too much. It is entirely too much to absorb. I really don’t know why our Messiah doesn’t come back and take over. Politics are so ugly and His children are being treated so poorly. I bet He returns soon.

We need to be ready, but it is so hard to stay focused. It seems like I am constantly reading about serious mistakes, family issues gone awry and poor decisions that seem to send an entire country into a downward spiral. To be honest, I don’t know how much longer we will be here. It seems like God will put His foot down and say, “Enough is enough! You have strayed so far from My design for you and there is no turning back.”

It’s sad. It’s scary. It’s just too much. And, we've barely made it out of Genesis.
