“Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.” John 3:20-21

“My life is an open book.” Perhaps you have heard or you have recited this saying to someone when trying to convince them that you have nothing to hide. Christians are meant to live an open-book kind of life – one that mimics the life of Christ and one that will not bring disgrace to God’s Holy name.

I was blessed growing up in an authentic Christian home. We weren’t super religious; we were extremely dedicated to the teachings of the Bible. When I reached the age that I was allowed to date and the age that I was able to drive, my mother would say, “Wherever you go, make sure Jesus would be there, too.  Whatever you do, make sure it is something you want Him to see you doing.”  My mother was putting the above verse into play in our lives.

What about you? Are you going places Jesus would want to be, too? Are you doing the things that honor Him? When His spotlight shines into the darkest crevices of my heart, I hope He is pleased with what He finds.
