Mere observations - Part 2

From time to time, I share what is going on in my mind.  You don’t have to agree with what I share.  However, I get things off my chest best by verbalizing.  I encourage you to do the same and I offer you respect when doing so.  Here we go with Part 2 of my "mere observations."

If you are going to carry a gun, you probably need to have a plan for using it.

If you are going to carry a gun and hunt, you need to know about those in your hunting party, where you are hunting, the laws of that particular area, and follow the law of the jungle that teaches “Kill to eat or to keep from being eaten.”

If you are going to carry a gun, you plan to hunt, you choose to follow guides you don’t know, you are unfamiliar with the hunting area and national laws within, you choose to game hunt, and you are willing to pay more for the trip than most of us make in a year, please take the time to research the guides you are trusting.

If you are going to disregard all of the above, you probably need to accept the consequences or don’t carry a gun.

If you do carry a gun, you don’t have a plan, but you are going to hunt, you don’t know those in your hunting party, you are unfamiliar with the area and laws of where you are hunting, you don’t give a crap about the law of the jungle because your focus is “trophies,” you choose to save some money by following ignorant or shady guides, and you don’t want to accept the consequences of what might happen – don’t take a picture with a dead lion and brag about cutting its head off.

If you carry a gun, you allow others to be responsible for their own gun decisions, you are pro-life and are frustrated about people “caring more about a dead lion than dead babies,” you might just consider the fact that there are many, many, many cruelties in life and nobody should have to pick just one to care about or to voice disgust over.

If you find yourself doing all the things listed directly above, may I suggest you stay off Facebook until the crisis dies down? Or perhaps you can be more open to the fact that SOCIAL media is a SOCIAL environment and anyone with any amount of wisdom in SOCIOLOGY realizes ideas and beliefs vary from nation to nation; culture to culture; opinion to opinion; and from individual to individual.

Share the planet or shut yourself up in your own home and live by your own rules.  Thank you.
